All soccer related activities in the Province have been suspended until further notice at the direction of the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA). KDSC will continue to monitor the situation and will follow the direction of the Government of Canada, Health Canada, Ontario Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association. To date, the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA) has cancelled related soccer activities until the end of April, 2020.
In the meantime, we must continue to plan for any scenario, a) should the summer season resume fully, b) should the season be resumed in a condensed format or c) should the season should be cancelled outright.
To provide cost certainty for our membership, the Board has approved setting 2021 fees equal to 2020 fees.
We need to plan for a full or a partial season. Registration for players will continue, and in the worst-case season ending scenario, we will either issue full refunds to our members or allow our members to pre-pay for the 2021 season. We need to continue to plan as if a full season will proceed in order to both plan our team submissions, our field allocations, our match official training and coach selection. This will be extremely difficult to manage should our members wait until after the announcement to resume the season is made.
Should the season be shortened then be resumed in a condensed format then fees will be adjusted accordingly, with refunds being issued for the differential.
Safety is first and foremost for our membership, so we are cancelling Club House office hours until further notice. Registrations and payments may either be submitted electronically or dropped off at the Club House mailbox.
KDSC does operate with small financial reserve so we are immediately implementing a reduced cost structure plan in order to maintain fiscal responsibility.
In the meantime, stay safe, follow Health Canada safety guidelines and we look forward to the continuance of soccer in Kemptville.
